Daily US  sign-ups for Netflix have jumped in the first few days after the streaming giant's password- sharing crackdown came into effect on May 23, data from research firm Antenna showed. The news sent shares of the company up 2.3% to $418.92 in early trading. Looking for new ways to make money in a saturating market and a tough economy, Netflix moved to regulate the sharing of account passwords with friends and family - a drastic turnaround for a company that had once tweeted "Love is sharing a password". Netflix had estimated that more than a 100 million households had supplied their log-in credentials to people outside their homes. Under the new rules, US users can add a member outside of their homes for an additional fee of $8 per month. A Peruvian judge has affirmed this week’s planned extradition to the U.S. of the main suspect in the unsolved 2005 disappearance of American student Natalee Holloway LIMA, Peru -- A Peruvian judge on Tuesday affirmed this week's planned extradition to the U.S. of the main suspect in the unsolved 2005 disappearance of American student Natalee Holloway. The judge's ruling came less than 24 hours after the attorney for Dutchman Joran van der Sloot filed a writ of habeas corpus in an attempt to stop the custody transfer. Magistrate Elmer Morales informed the suspect of his decision in writing. Law enforcement authorities scheduled the extradition for Thursday. Van der Sloot's attorney, Máximo Altez, filed the challenge Monday after his client changed his mind and decided to fight the government's decision to send him to the U.S. to be prosecuted on wire fraud and extortion charges. 'Thrown in their faces': Bud Light salespeople say boycott is hurting commission

"This was thrown in their faces," said a sales supervisor at an Anheuser-Busch distributor in Florida. Salespeople promoting Bud Light for a Florida–based distributor have grown accustomed to car horns, middle fingers and jokes amid a weekslong boycott, but say they have struggled to ignore thousands of dollars in lost commission pay, two sales supervisors at the distributor told ABC News. A typical salesperson at the distributor made roughly $2,000 less in May than he or she would have over each of the previous two years, suffering primarily from a decline in Bud Light sales that reached as much as 60% over the week ending on Memorial Day, the sales supervisors said. "This has really, really killed a lot of the guys who are commission-based. That's who it's really hurting," one supervisor said. "There's nothing they could've done -- this was thrown in their faces." In this April 21, 2023, file photo, a sign disparaging Bud Light beer is se

Nun whose body shows little decay since 2019 death draws hundreds to rural Missouri

Hundreds of people visited a small town in Missouri this week and last to see a Black nun whose body has barely decomposed since 2019 Hundreds of people flocked to a small town in Missouri this week and last to see a Black nun whose body has barely decomposed since 2019. Some say it's a sign of holiness in Catholicism, while others say the lack of decomposition may not be as rare as people think. Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster was exhumed in April, according to a statement from the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles, in Gower, Missouri. The nuns had been preparing for the addition of a St. Joseph shrine, and that involved “the reinterment of the remains of our beloved foundress, Sister Wilhelmina,” the statement said. When they exhumed Lancaster, they were told to expect only bones, since she had been buried in a simple wooden coffin without any embalming four years ago. Instead, they discovered an intact body and “a perfectly preserved religious habit," the statement said.
